Ecclesiastical Equipment and Supplies
“The Navy Chaplains Division has revised its specifications for ecclesiastical supplies to improve existing material and to standardize items of equipment with the Army and the Air Force.
“Equipment from the Bureau of Naval Personnel is supplied in three categories, adapted to the particular needs of the Chaplain:
.
“STANDARD EQUIPMENT: Appropriate for permanent installations, includes altar furnishings and hangings, organ, lectern, altar supplies, Bibles, Testaments and Devotional aids.
.
.
“SEMI-PORTABLE EQUIPMENT: Appropriate on ships to which Chaplains are attached, includes portable altar which is easily set up and dissembled. Equipment, except for quantity of certain items, is much the same as Standard Equipment.
.
“COMPLETELY PORTABLE: Adaptable for use with Fleet Marine Force and SeaBee units. Complete unit is easily transportable in a suitcase type carrying case.”1
